Gleicheniaのガラスモチーフは、古代メソポタミアに起源を持つと言われるパート・ド・ヴェール pâte de verre の技法で制作しています。ガラスの粉末を石膏型に詰めて焼成することで、幾層ものグラデーションと細やかな泡粒を含んだガラスが生まれます。一つ一つ手仕事によるカットと研磨を施すことで、2つとして同じかたちのないモチーフに仕上がります。

A cairn is a pile of stones that travelers stack along the way, a marker for those who walk after them. Born from this custom, CAIRN joins two faceted pâte de verre glass forms with an SV950 silver ring, in a pierced earring made for one ear.
Each piece of glass is made by hand. When light falls on it, soft bubbles and particles slowly rise from deep within, giving the form a depth where light and shadow overlap. The contrast of glass and silver brings out the texture of each.
The ring moves freely, so the silhouette at the ear shifts each time it turns. A single piece on one ear is enough to give the face a crisp presence.
